ピエロの笑顔

何度挑戦しても、
一輪車の芸がうまくいかず、
すっかり落ち込んでしまったピエロ。

そんなピエロを心配して、
仲間たちが集まってきた。

「ねえ、早くブランコから降りておいでよ！」

「失敗したって大丈夫！
僕たちだって失敗することはあるんだから！」

一生懸命励ます子もいれば、
一緒になって悲しむ子も。

みんなの願いは、ただひとつ。

ピエロに、もう一度
笑顔を取り戻してほしい……。

No matter how many times he tried,
the clown just couldn’t get his unicycle act right,
and he became terribly discouraged.

Worried about him,
his friends gathered around.

“Hey, come on down from the swing!”

“It’s okay to fail!
We make mistakes sometimes, too!”

Some tried their hardest to cheer him up,
while others shared in his sadness.

They all wished for just one thing.

For the clown to find
his smile once again…

※今、私生活でいろいろなことが重なり、
気持ちに余裕のない日々を過ごしています。

そんな中、ある朝目が覚めたとき、
ふとピエロの顔が頭に浮かび、
そこから今回の物語が
自然に思い浮かんできました。

今回は、物語を考えながら、
登場する仲間たちにどんな表情や仕草を
させようかと、一つずつ考え、
ほとんどの素材を自分で制作しました。

そのため、普段のシールを使った作品よりも
手間のかかる制作になりました。

特に細かな切り抜き作業が多かったのですが、
私はこうした細かいものを
一つずつ切り抜いていく作業が
とても好きなので、
今回も楽しみながら制作しました。

失敗して落ち込むことがあっても、
そばには励ましてくれる仲間がいる。

そんな温かさを感じられる作品にしたいと
思いながら作りました。

登場する仲間たちの表情や仕草にも
目を向けながら、
楽しんでいただけたら嬉しいです。

※At the moment, several things
are happening in my personal life,
and I have been going through days
when I have very little emotional room to spare.

Then one morning, as I woke up,
the face of a clown suddenly came to mind,
and from there, the story for this piece
naturally came to me.

As I developed the story,
I thought carefully about
the expressions and gestures
of each of the characters,
and created most of the materials myself.

This made the process
more involved than my usual pieces
made with ready-made stickers.

There was a great deal
of intricate cutting involved,
but I really enjoy
carefully cutting out
these tiny details one by one,
so I enjoyed creating this piece as well.

Even when we fail
and feel discouraged,
there are friends beside us
who offer encouragement.

I created this piece
hoping to convey that kind of warmth.

I hope you will enjoy the piece
while also noticing
the expressions and gestures
of the little characters.
