傾いた景色の向こうに

旅の途中、
ふと覗いた望遠鏡の先…

見慣れたはずの景色が、
なぜか少し違って見えた…

「あれ…こんなに傾いてたっけ？」

違和感の正体は、
思いもよらない存在…

常識なんて、
ほんの少しの遊び心で
くすっと崩れてしまう…

そんな瞬間もまた、
旅の中のひとつの思い出…

Beyond the Tilted View

While traveling,
I looked through a telescope—

a familiar view,
yet something felt different…

“Was it always this tilted?”

Then I noticed—
something unexpected at the top…

Sometimes,
it only takes a little whim
to gently shift reality…

And those small surprises
become part of the journey too…

※ この作品は、ピサの斜塔を見た時、
その傾きを少年の目線で見たら
どんなふうに映るだろう、と想像しながら作りました。

その中で、ピサの斜塔の上にゴリラを置いたら
面白いかもしれないと思い、
そんな遊び心を込めて仕上げた作品です。

作っていた当時は特に意識していませんでしたが、
後になって「キングコングみたいですね」と
言ってくださった方がいて、
たしかにそうだなと思いました。

※ This piece was inspired by the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

When I saw its tilt, I began to imagine
how it might appear through the eyes of a boy,
and I created this work with that playful perspective in mind.

At some point, I thought it would be interesting
to place a gorilla on top of the tower,
and I completed the piece with that sense of fun.

At the time, I was not especially thinking of it that way,
but later someone told me,
“It looks like King Kong,”
and I thought, “That’s true.”
