暗闇があるからこそ星は輝く

「星って、どうしてあんなに光るんだろう？」

女の子が、ふと口にした。

その声を聞いた小さな働き者たちは、
さっそく仕事を始める。

ある働き者は、暗闇の色を運び、
ある働き者は、それを丁寧に塗っていく。

みんなで一生懸命、
夜の暗闇をつくっていった。

そして今度は、別の働き者が、
女の子のために、
とびきり美しい星を描こうと、
一生懸命筆を動かした。

「ほら、見てごらん。
星は、暗闇があるからこそ輝くんだよ。」

女の子は、空を見上げた。

その星は、
いっそう輝いて見えた……

“Why do stars shine
so brightly?”

The girl wondered aloud.

Hearing her words,
the Tiny Little Workers
quickly set to work.

One worker carried
the color of darkness,
while another carefully
painted it on.

Together, they worked hard
to create the darkness
of the night.

Then another worker
worked hard with the brush,
hoping to paint
the most beautiful star
for the girl.

“Look.
Stars shine because
there is darkness.”

The girl looked up at the sky.

The star seemed to shine
even more brightly…

※「闇があるからこそ星は輝く」というテーマで、
いつか作品を作ってみたいと、
最近ずっと考えていました。

そんなとき、
小さな働き者たちのシールを見つけ、
「これなら作れる」と思ったところから、
今回の作品づくりが始まりました。

そして主人公をどうしようかと考えたとき、
やっぱり女の子がいいなと思い、
このような作品に仕上げました。

人生には、大変なことや
つらいこともあると思います。

でも、そんな中に一つでも
キラリと輝くような瞬間があると、
それをとても幸せに感じることがあります。

そして、つらいことがあるからこそ、
輝く瞬間をより一層、
幸せに感じられることもあるのではないか。

そんな思いを、
「闇があるからこそ星は輝く」
という言葉に重ねながら、
今回の作品を作りました。

※I had been thinking for some time
that I wanted to create a piece
around the theme,
“Stars shine because there is darkness.”

Then I found these stickers
of the little workers,
and I thought,
“I can make it with these.”
That was where this piece began.

When I thought about
who the main character should be,
I felt that a girl would be just right,
and that is how I created this piece.

In life, there are times
when we go through difficulties
and painful experiences.

But even in those times,
when there is just one moment
that shines brightly,
we can sometimes feel
a great sense of happiness.

And perhaps it is because
we experience difficult times
that those shining moments
can feel even more precious and joyful.

With those thoughts in mind,
I created this piece
around the words,
“Stars shine because there is darkness.”
