ブラシノキの妖精……

ブラシノキに囲まれて、
どこか幸せそうな顔をしている女の子。

やがて、その幸せな気持ちは
やさしい歌声になって、
花の間から聞こえてきました。

その歌声を、
一匹の蝶が風にのせて、
遠くまで運んでいきます。

歌声に誘われてやって来たシマエナガは、
花の間から、
彼女の様子をそっと覗き込みました。

「あれ？
もしかして、ブラシノキの妖精……？」

そう思いながら見つめているうちに、
彼女の幸せが少しずつ伝わって、
シマエナガの心にも、
やさしいぬくもりが
広がっていくのでした……

The Bottlebrush Fairy

Surrounded by bottlebrush flowers,
a girl sits with a quietly happy look on
her face.

Before long,
her happiness turns into a gentle song
that drifts through the flowers.

A single butterfly carries her song
upon the breeze,
far into the distance.

Drawn by the melody,
a little Shima-enaga comes closer
and quietly peeks through the flowers
to watch her.

“Could she be…
the bottlebrush fairy…?”

As the little bird continues to watch
her,
the girl’s happiness slowly reaches its
heart,
and a gentle warmth begins
to spread within it……

この水彩画は、10年ほど前、少し心が疲れていた頃に、近所の書家であり水彩画の先生に少しの間教えていただきながら描いた、まだ本当に初心者だった頃の作品です。

今回、その絵を小さく印刷して、コラージュの一部として使ってみました。

写真は当時使っていた水彩絵の具と、いつもノンシュガーのカフェオレを飲んでいる、大好きなラスカルのカップです。

I painted this watercolor about ten years ago, when I was going through a slightly difficult time and was learning watercolor for a short while from a local calligrapher and watercolor teacher.

It is one of my very early works, from when I was still a complete beginner.

For this collage, I printed the painting at a smaller size and used it as part of the piece.

The photo also shows the watercolor paints I used and my favorite Rascal cup, which I often use for my sugar-free café au lait.
