夜空を泳ぐクジラ…

二人で絵本を読んでいた…

「クジラって、海にいるんだよね…？」
「空も泳げるのかな…？」

そんな小さな一言から、
夜空には不思議な世界が広がっていった…

シマエナガは、
幸せな猫たちが暮らす世界を思い浮かべる…

猫たちは、
三日月の世界へ行く自分たちを思い描く…

クジラの背中へ飛び乗る猫も…
猫の世界をのぞいてみたいシマエナガも…

みんなの小さな空想が、
いつの間にか重なり合って…

一匹のクジラが、
静かな夜空を泳ぎ始めた…

もしかしたら空想の世界には、
誰か一人の夢だけではなく…

みんなの夢が、
そっと集まっているのかもしれない…

The Whale Swimming Through the Night Sky…

Two girls were reading a picture book
together…

“Whales live in the sea, don’t they…?”
“Do you think they can swim through
the sky too…?”

From that little conversation,
a mysterious world began to unfold
across the night sky…

The long-tailed tit imagined
a world where happy cats lived
together…

The cats imagined themselves
travelling to a crescent-moon world…

A cat leaping onto the whale’s back…
A long-tailed tit longing to peek into
the cats’ world…

Little by little,
all their imaginings began to overlap…

And before they knew it,
a whale was swimming quietly
through the night sky…

Perhaps the world of imagination
is not made from only one person’s
dream…

Perhaps it is a place
where everyone’s dreams quietly
come together…

※クジラがとても好きなので、
ふと夜空に浮かべたらどうなるだろう、
と思ったところから始まった作品です。

「クジラって、空も泳げるのかな」

もし私が子どもだったら、
きっとこんなイメージを浮かべただろうなと想像したことから、
この発想につながりました。

そこに猫やシマエナガも登場させて、
みんなの夢のような世界をイメージしながら、
この作品を作りました。

※I love whales very much,
and this piece began with the thought,
“What would it be like if a whale were floating in the night sky?”

“Can whales swim through the sky too?”

I imagined that if I were a child,
this is probably the kind of image
that would have come to mind,
and that thought led to the idea for this piece.

I added a cat and long-tailed tits,
and created this piece while imagining
a world like everyone’s dream.
