あなたに追いつくために…

彼女には、ひとつの願いがある。

大好きな彼と、
同じ大学へ行くこと。

今はまだ、
一方通行の恋。

でも、同じ大学へ行けたなら、
いつか気持ちを伝える
チャンスが来るかもしれない。

その日のために、
彼女は今日も
一生懸命勉強している。

本を開くたび、
少しずつ彼に近づいていると
信じながら。

別々の場所から、
猫たちがそっと見つめている。

そんな二人の行方を…

To Catch Up with You

She has one wish—

to attend the same university
as the boy she loves.

For now,
her love is still one-sided.

But if she can make it
to the same university,
perhaps one day
she will have the chance
to tell him how she feels.

For that day,
she studies as hard as she can.

Each time she opens a book,
she believes she is
getting a little closer to him.

From different places,
the cats quietly watch over them—

and wonder where
their paths will lead…

※好きな人と同じところに行きたい、
そんな思いから、
勉強を頑張れたということも
あるんじゃないかなと思いながら作った作品です。

私自身には、
そういう経験はありませんでした。

ただ、大学に入ったあと、
幼なじみの同級生で、
当時少し憧れていた人が
同じ大学に入っていたことを後から知りました。

そして、大学の校舎の廊下で
たまたますれ違ったとき、
高校が違っていたので、
3年ぶりくらいの再会だったと思います。

それでもお互いすぐにわかり、
「えっ」と驚いたことを覚えています。

そんな再会を思い出しながら、
作った作品でもあります。

※I created this piece while thinking about
the feeling of wanting to go to the same place
as someone you like,
and how that feeling might sometimes
make you work harder at your studies.

I myself did not have
that kind of experience.

However, after I entered university,
I later found out that a childhood classmate
whom I had admired a little at the time
had entered the same university.

Then one day,
we happened to pass each other
in a hallway on campus.
Since we had gone to different high schools,
I think it had been about three years
since we had last seen each other.

Even so, we recognized each other immediately,
and I remember both of us being surprised,
like, “Oh!”

This piece was also created
while remembering that reunion.
